Become a Rebels Umpire
Rebels values, encourages and is committed to the development of our Junior and Senior Umpires each season. Becoming a Rebels Umpire is not just about officiating the game, it is also about helping players enjoy the game and develop their full potential. Umpires play a crucial role in ensuring fair play, enforcing the rules and maintaining the integrity of the game.
Umpiring is a great way to stay connected to the game, forge new friendships and staying fit and healthy. It also develops essential skills such as communication, resilience and leadership which are wonderful life skills to have.
Rebels will provide multiple opportunities for umpire skill development sessions, prior and throughout the season.

RUDS - REBELS UMPIRING DEVELOPMENT SQUAD
RUDS has been developed to promote and encourage umpiring within our Club. The RUDS is structured to allow athletes 13 years and older to develop confidence whilst umpiring Club games and being mentored by a fellow Club / Senior member.
If an athlete would like to join the RUDS – they will be expected to complete the following umpiring courses prior to the season beginning;
- Rules of Netball Theory Exam
- Foundation Umpire Course
Login via The Netball Learning Centre - Netball Learning Centre to complete the online courses.
RUDS Mentor
It is a prerequisite that a RUDS Mentor has achieved their National C Badge. It will be expected that Mentors are also continuing their Umpiring Development. Mentors will also receive education to upskill their Mentoring Skills.
Open Umpire Requirements
When registering for Open divisions, it is important to know your team are required to fulfil a weekly umpiring allocation given to them by FNA. This means you, or a team mate need to be available for the alternating time slot for the 15 rounds. If and when the coordinator is able to provide an affiliated umpire, you will then be required to pay the affiliated umpire prior to the game.
Failure to Umpire – FNA imposes a $100 fine per duty to the club along with a team penalty of 2 premiership points deducted. The fine will be passed onto the rostered Umpire as well as a further $45 to pay the substitute Umpire - totalling $145. If you incur a fine you will be unable to play until it is paid.
Please email Rebels Umpiring Coordinator, Lisa Callaghan if you are interested in joining our Rebels Umpiring Squad umpiring@prnc.com.au
